Installation, Removal, and Management of Fuel Delivery Systems:
Our experience in the storage and handling of petroleum fuels provides us with strong working knowledge of fuel delivery systems. Our staff includes State Fire Marshall approved installers and removers with experience in this area of expertise. 

Industrial and Crude Oil Tank Cleaning:
Regular tank and sump maintenance reduces buildup of bottom sediments over time and minimizes expensive system shut downs.  With confined space trained technicians and a 3100 gallon capacity vacuum truck, Somerset has the capability to remove, clean, transport and manage the disposal of sediments from these vessels.

Non-Hazardous Waste Water Disposal:
Contaminated waters from underground storage tank pits, monitor wells, and other non-hazardous waters are disposed of under our KPDES permit. Waters are accepted by analysis or by signed and verified generator characterization. Pickup service of these waters is available.

In-Situ Remediation Services:
Somerset has the knowledge to design, construct, implement, and monitor in-situ remediations of contaminated soils and groundwater. We have considerable experience in vapor recovery, water polishing, air stripping, and bioremediation. Our project management skills are evidenced by our number of remediations approved by the Kentucky Petroleum Assurance Fund.

Drilling; Soil and Groundwater Sampling:
Site investigations are an intricate part of remediation efforts. Our soil auguring unit allows penetration of the vadose zone for determining an extent of contamination. Our technicians are trained in proper soil and groundwater sampling methodology to preserve sample integrity. These capabilities reduce the need to subcontract work and keep environmental costs down. 
 

Hazardous Waste Management:
Disposal of hazardous waste can be a very arduous and time consuming task. Somerset is experienced in the management of hazardous waste characterization, security, storage, transportation, and disposal. Proven relationships with a diverse group of disposal facilities provides us with an advantage in coordination and timing associated with disposal of hazardous waste.

Environmental Audit and Assessment:
We provide phase I, II, and III environmental assessments of real estate. These reviews can be used to identify potential and actual environmental concerns, to assure compliance with environmental regulations, and show environmental soundness for purposes of property transfer.

Petroleum Spill Response:
Somerset can provide immediate emergency response to petroleum related spills. Capabilities include OSHA 1910.120 trained responders, mobile spill trailer including complete stock of absorbent materials, and a 3100 gallon capacity vacuum truck. We can also provide technical management to oversee closure of the spill site after the initial response.
